Associate Researcher at CSNI, Tim Fransen, presented at the first Association for Learning Technology (ALT) Summer Summit – ‘Learning Technology in a time of crisis, care and complexity‘ in August 2020. The event saw 50 sessions being delivered over 2 days with over 280 attendees from 24 countries.

Tim’s presentation focused on Establishing a ‘Social Learning Space’ during lockdown, and beyond…’ as well as variants of the platform such as CSNI’s Conversations. Additionally, he highlights the importance of alternative open-source communication technologies rather than those pushed by Tech Giants which have colonised the universities communications infrastructure and become further entrenched during the COVID‑19 crisis.

As part of ALT’s commitment to openness all resources are now publicly available via the Summer Summit site. From inspiring keynotes, panel discussions to crisis support, the resources page has something to offer every member of our community.
