Lynn Adhiambo Obath is a Kenyan-American artist, teacher and researcher who is passionate about the storytelling traditions of African peoples. Using a practice as research approach, her work considers the ways storytelling activates orality as a mechanism for muting and breaking from the colonial mindset. Her research is informed by critical theory, decolonial praxis, pleasure activism, posthumanism and autotheory. In 2020, Lynn started researching Luo storytelling culture through a Ph.D. in Arts & Creative Industries at London South Bank University. Currently, Lynn is the Senior Lecturer in Diploma of Professional Studies in the Fine Art Department, at the University of Arts London.
