Join CRAIL (Creative and Responsible AI Lab) at LSBU for a screening of The Invisible Doctrine: The Secret History of Neoliberalism (& How It Came to Control Your Life), followed by a Q&A with the award-winning filmmakers Peter Hutchison and Lucas Sabean.

Featuring The Guardian journalist and environmental activist George Monbiot, the 75-minute documentary traces where neoliberalism came from, how it spread, and how it shapes our politics, public services, and everyday lives.

The film makes deliberate use of AI-generated imagery. As the filmmakers explain in their AI statement, the aim was to “turn the tables, and employ technology against capitalism,” using an unsettling, synthetic visual language to mirror the ideology under scrutiny, while cautioning against debates that fixate on process over purpose. We’ll pick up these themes further in the post-screening discussion.

A companion book of the same name by George Monbiot and Peter Hutchison, a #1 Sunday Times bestseller, provides a clear, accessible primer that complements the film’s arguments.
