PhD Researcher
Rosie Hermon is a curator and project manager with a background in working on European collaboration projects in the cultural sector. She holds an MA in Curating Contemporary Art from the Royal College of Art (2017), a PG Cert. in Arts Policy and Management from Birkbeck College, University of London (2015) and a BA Hons in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University (2009). Since 2015 Rosie has been Co-Curator of diep~haven, a cross-Channel visual arts project and festival that invites artists in residence to respond to the expanded territory of East Sussex and Normandy. Prior to this she was the Project Coordinator of the Creative Europe-funded project Understanding Territoriality: Identity, Place and Possession, which was led by Fabrica in Brighton with partners in Belgium, Italy and Macedonia. She has also worked on curating local programmes in Nine Elms, the largest regeneration area in the UK, as a project manager for DKUK in Peckham and as Project Assistant at Fabrica, working on a number of EU-funded projects with British, French, Belgian and Dutch organisations.
Rosie’s PhD research project is a collaboration between London South Bank University, Royal College of Art and Gasworks, a visual arts organisation in Vauxhall which is part of the Triangle Network. Triangle Network is a global network of artists and visual arts organisations that support professional development and cultural exchange amongst artists, curators and other arts professionals throughout the world. Taking the Triangle Network as both its starting point and focus, Rosie’s research explores the potential for new models to harness the digital in order to re-imagine cultural networks of exchange, and to redistribute some of the cultural value extracted from the international artist residency model.
